If kept in proper conditions, tea leaves can last for several years. Although, once the sealed package is opened, the tea will gradually lose its freshness. For proper storage after opening, we recommend storing tea leaves in one of our canisters at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. See the perfect canisters here.

Oolong teas typically contain 35 to 55 milligrams of caffeine per eight ounce serving. Brewing method, tea varietal, leaf variety (whole leaf, broken leaf, or stem), and plant growing conditions impact the amount of caffeine in a brew. Oolong tea caffeine levels are generally between green and black tea. By comparison, coffee typically contains 70-130 milligrams per eight ounce serving.

Oolong teas are sometimes brewed up to five times in a short steeping cycle in a gaiwan. However if using longer brew method recommended for all our teas, the leaves are recommended for no more than two to three brews. Later steeps require more time than the first.
